Reason 1

Your shoes fixed your gait.
They never touched your charge.

The outsole of a worn rubber safety boot, plain rubber from edge to edge
Rubber, edge to edge — the same material electricians wear on purpose.
1.2–1.3 volts

The charge an ungrounded body carries indoors. Every step, all day.

Applewhite, 2005 — instrumented measurement

Rubber is an insulator.
That's the part no toe box can fix.

Reason 2

Flip it over.
That's the whole difference.

Every barefoot shoe on your list is rubber, edge to edge. Turn this one over and there's a disc of real copper.

Close-up of the copper disc set through the tread of the outsole
Real copper, set through the tread.
Why copper

The most conductive metal on Earth after silver. It's what the power grid is made of.

How it reaches you

A conductive layer carries it up through the sole to the footbed you're standing on.

How we know

Touch a meter to your hand and to the disc. It beeps — four people, four kinds of socks.

Out of you, into the ground.

Reason 3

You don't have to believe it.
You can measure it.

70×

lower the moment you're grounded — from over a volt to a few hundredths.

The same drop you can watch on a $30 meter, standing on an ordinary sidewalk.

In ordinary shoes 1.2 V
Grounded 0.02 V

Published measurement, drawn to scale.

The voltage drop is the signal. This is what the studies keep finding downstream of it.

Inflammation

After hard exercise, the grounded group's muscle-damage marker rose 310%. The ungrounded group's rose 760%.

Red blood cells measured 2.70× more charged — repelling each other instead of clumping.

Small studies, real journals. Every one is on our Science page — with the sample sizes quoted, not rounded up.

These studies were run on grounding systems — mats, patches and sheets — not on this footwear.

Reason 4

You could just walk barefoot in the yard.
Then it's October.

Wet grass, gravel, thorns and four months of winter turn actual barefoot time into a five-minute novelty. Concrete and paving hold moisture — which means they conduct. The sidewalk counts. So does the walk to the car.

Doesn't work on sealed asphalt, dry treated decking, or carpet and vinyl indoors.

A grounding mat covers your night.
These cover your day.

Reason 5

You won't notice your feet.
You'll notice the clock.

Nothing dramatic happens on day one. That's worth saying plainly, so here it is.

Days 1–4

Much like your current barefoot pair. No transition to make — you already did that part.

Week 2

The clock, not your feet. Six in the evening, and you haven't thought about them yet.

Weeks 3–4

Full errand days. The ache that used to arrive at five just doesn't.

A kitchen wall clock reading a little past six in the evening
You don't notice an ache leaving. You notice the clock.

“They've improved my balance and the way I walk. Even my physiotherapist noticed a change in how I'm distributing my weight.”

Leslie C. · verified buyer

Week one tells you how they fit.
Week three tells you whether they worked.

Which is why the trial runs thirty days and not seven.

Our Signature

Every barefoot shoe frees your feet. Only ours reconnects you.

Most of our shoes stop at barefoot freedom. Our signature Grounding line goes one step further: a conductive copper stud in the sole connects your body to the Earth's natural charge — the way walking barefoot on grass does. Not a wellness trend: it's measurable with a household voltmeter.

Measure once

Stand on a sheet of paper, mark heel and longest toe, measure in centimeters.

02

Compare

Barefoot shoes should leave about a thumb's width of space in front of your longest toe.

03

Between sizes? Size up.

Extra toe room always beats a tight fit in a barefoot shoe.

Good To Know

Questions, answered.

I already own barefoot shoes. Is this worth it?

Yours fixed your gait too — that part works. The copper is the part they can’t do. It’s the whole difference, and it’s the one you can see and measure.

Do they look like "barefoot shoes"?

They look like modern sneakers. Most people don’t notice anything until you turn one over.

Does it work through socks?

Yes. Moisture in ordinary socks conducts — no bare feet, no special socks needed.

Does it only work on grass?

No — soil, sand, gravel, concrete and paving all conduct. Dry treated wood and sealed asphalt don’t.

Do I have to believe in grounding for it to work?

No. Charge doesn’t care what you believe — which is why this page shows a measurement and not just a testimonial.

Is there an adjustment period?

Coming from barefoot shoes, no — you already did that part. New to thin soles, start at twenty minutes a day for the first week.

What size should I order?

True to size. Between sizes, size up. The wide toe box is the point, so err toward room.

Should I get two pairs?

The Buy 1 Get 1 exists because most people want one by the door and one clean — or a partner claims the second pair.

I was skeptical — not gonna lie

My husband wanted to try these shoes out and since it was buy 1 get 1, I figured what the heck, I'll try them too! I have a lot of foot issues: heel spurs, bunion, plantar fasciitis and neuropathy. I see a podiatrist every year for new or altered shoe inserts. I've always been told that I need a stiff shoe and a high arch support for my issues. There was actually a time when walking felt like walking on glass every step.

I've broken eight toes over the last 40 years

I don't really notice the grounding aspect, but I love that they feel so good on my feet. I've broken eight toes over the last 40 years and it feels amazing that my toes have so much room. I love them and I actually bought one pair for my daughter, but I'm keeping both of them.

Every day since November

I LOVE my shoes! However, it has spoiled me from wearing any other shoes. I've worn my Wild Barefoot grounding shoes every day since I received them last November. No foot pain, and I feel better balanced.

I am 70 and have a hammer toe

Very comfortable. I wear the white ones around the house and run errands. I have the black ones for working in my garden. I am 70 and have a hammer toe. These shoes have relaxed the toe. My 47 year old daughter has plantar fasciitis. She has worn your shoes for over 2 years now with the insoles.

I even laid down and left them on

Since I got my shoes, I put them on my feet — I even laid down and left them on because they were so comfortable. I love the feel of the shoe. You don't know what you're missing out on.

The wide toe box is a game changer

I never realized how cramped my old shoes were until I tried these. The wide toe box is a complete game changer. My toes can actually spread naturally, and my daily foot soreness is almost gone. I'm genuinely impressed.

Two knee replacements between us

I have 2 knee replacements. My husband has a torn ligament in his knee. These shoes have made all the difference. Both of us can walk with confidence which in turn helps strengthen our muscles. Truly a great shoe.

On my feet most of the day at work

I'm on my feet most of the day at work, and normally I'd be exhausted by the time I get home. Since switching to Wild Barefoot, the fatigue and pressure in my heels and forefoot is almost gone. Didn't expect such a big change.

No slipping on the trail

I wear them daily. They are comfortable. The traction is good; I haven't had any slipping or problems hiking with the trail shoes.

Even my physiotherapist noticed

I chose Wild Barefoot because they looked the best, and I'm glad I did. They've improved my balance and the way I walk. Even my physiotherapist noticed a change in how I'm distributing my weight.

Like walking barefoot with a little protection

Still getting used to them! It is like walking barefoot with a little protection! They are so light weight you forget you are wearing them!

10 out of 10

These are some of the most comfortable workout shoes I have owned. They are very flexible and lightweight, they are breathable and very comfortable for running. They really don't feel like you have anything on which is my favorite part. 10 out of 10, highly recommended.

Rebecca J.✓ Verified buyer

Nicely made, but I have wide feet

They are comfortable with or without the inserts and nicely made. I have wide soles and would prefer that they were wider for me. They do stretch but the outside of my feet hang over a bit.

My 5km morning walk

I've been wearing them every morning on my 5km walk and they're unbelievably comfortable. Super lightweight and flexible. My knees don't ache anymore afterward. Didn't expect this much difference from switching shoes.

Walking heel to toe comfortably again

I've only had them for a few days and when I first put them on, I felt like my feet were turning out, but I believe that is because of the other shoes I used to wear. I've noticed after wearing them a couple of days that this is going away and I'm able to walk heel to toe comfortably. The other thing I like about the shoes is that they are lightweight and I'm able to wear them when I do certain types of walking or yoga exercises.

Great anywhere shoes

My feet have never been so comfortable and the muscles and bones in my feet are now moving correctly and comfortably. GREAT ANYWHERE SHOES!

Susan H.

I thought barefoot shoes looked weird

I always thought barefoot shoes looked weird, but these actually look stylish. They feel so soft around the foot, and the zero-drop sole helps with my posture more than I expected. Love them.

Tasha W.✓ Verified buyer

Standing on concrete all day

Not what I was expecting (kind of look like reef shoes) but really comfortable. We're wearing them as our new gym shoes; darling is finding them great to wear for his work, which is standing on concrete all day.

Heather-rose L.✓ Verified buyer

It pushes right where I need it

I felt intense coolness from the tiny copper before I even stood up in them. It took about 4 to 5 minutes when I noticed. I love the arch — what I like is that it pushes right where I need to release the pain. It's like someone holding your foot tightly, but not too tight.

Rosario T.✓ Verified buyer

Not what I pictured, but I like them a lot

I was expecting more tennis shoes than water shoes. I like them a lot. I have been using them inside the house and planning on taking them to Cabo in September. They are very comfortable. My partner thinks they are fancy water shoes. His and mine fit well.

Steve N.

My steps feel stronger

My arches feel more engaged and my steps feel stronger. I didn't think a shoe could change the way I move this much, but it did. I was really impressed.

Virginia H.✓ Verified buyer

Easy to put on

Easy to put on. Comfortable to wear around the house and outside on plant grounds. I have not tried to use them on rocky ground or hills as I think with no support your feet would hurt. But for regular in-house use and flat ground use outside they are perfect.

I got my husband a pair too

These are so comfortable. They are the best shoes ever! I'm so glad I discovered them. I got my husband a pair too. I can hardly wait for him to open them on Father's Day. 😊

Carrie H.✓ Verified buyer

Great shoes, love them. I ordered 3 more and two for my husband.

I am in love with these. So happy I bought three pairs for myself, in different colours.
